Marcela Del Valle Sculpture and Murals
 
Bio

Marcela Del Valle was born in Peru where she studied at the prestigious National School of Fine Arts in Lima. In 1989, because of political reasons, Marcela moved to United States and settled in Washington, D.C. She received a BFA from the Corcoran School of Art and a Masters in Art History and Sculpture from the American University.

She has exhibited extensively in collective and solo shows. She also has created several public works and her public commissions include ceramic tile murals for Arlington County schools and private clients.

In addition to her work, Marcela has a passion for teaching art to the community. She created a curricula of classes as part of the "After School Enrichment Program" for the Arlington Public Schools. She taught ceramics, tile-making and drawing to the school children. She was also part of the faculty staff at the Art League (Torpedo Factory) in Alexandria, Virginia, where she taught for many years to adults and children.

In June of 2007, Marcela moved to Fredericksburg, VA. She is currently working full time in her studio making sculpture and murals.
